Applications Solicited for the Appointment of Chief Magistrate Judge

The Superior Court judges for the Tallapoosa Judicial Circuit are soliciting applications for appointment of a new Chief Magistrate judge of Haralson County, to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Chief Magistrate Jason Blackmon.

The current annual salary of the position is $ 74,372.89. It is classified as a full-time position with county health insurance, retirement, and life insurance. The successful applicant will be appointed to serve the remainder of the current term of office that will expire on December 31, 2028. The position’s four-year term thereafter will be filled by public election in 2028 to a four-year term to commence January 1, 2029.
